Overview of the manuals

To support our research, the 'Sports Institute of Hard Knocks' has produced a series of manuals based on Light Manual Muscle Relaxation.



The Institute is totally independent and until the present day paid all its own research and done full hands on work testing over 1000's of hours over many years into the benefits of

The World Run Recovery System

It is effective and simple to do because it works with the muscles not on them as is done with conventional forms of muscle recovery.

The system has been tested at many ultra marathon events around the world

Apart from its practical basis, Light Manual Muscle Relaxation has its theoretical basis in physiology.

I have researched many physiology books for a greater understanding of the way it works and attempted to reduce the information in them to a level of understandable proportions for most people yet still retain the basic core of what they are discussing.

The manuals are divided into 3 parts

part 1 being the basic introduction

*why the World Run Recovery System is needed in the particular area of concern

*the objectives of using it

*the way it is used

part 2 the system itself-this is also divided into 3 parts of the 3 versions

a) self seated-if there is no partner available just using a strap

b) prone-using a partner in the lying down position

c) seated assisted-using a partner to do it in a chair*

This is particularly useful if there is a problem with room for lying down or if someone is unable to do their own

part 3-the in-depth nuts and bolts

the theory of how's, why's and references for those who wish to go deeper into the mechanics and physiology of doing something

The manuals cover many areas of world run use and are in PDF format

They are based on many years and much experience in situations they are addressing; the versatility of the World RunRecovery System is such that it adapts to meet most requirements where a little assistance in lower leg circulation is required

all are available for the sum of $20 a manual

The institute considers this a reasonable price to ask as it makes the do it yourself recovery sysem available to people who would never be able to afford the cost of hiring a massage therapist or it may be impractical because of time or logistical considerations.

We tend to forget that poorer people than us also have lower leg problems and there are no specialists, doctors or massage therapists to help them out.
